Questions about e-learning development

How long does custom e-learning development take?
It depends on three things: the number of modules, how much source material already exists, and how many review cycles your stakeholders need. A single scenario-based module with existing content moves quickly; a multi-module compliance program built from raw policy documents takes considerably longer. We scope the timeline against your deadline during discovery, before any build starts, so the date is agreed rather than estimated.
Do you work with our existing LMS?
Yes. We deliver to any SCORM or xAPI-compliant LMS — Moodle, TalentLMS, and Docebo among them. Courses are packaged to the standard your platform expects and QA'd on your actual environment before handover, so tracking, scoring, and completion reporting all behave the way your administrators expect.
What is the difference between SCORM and xAPI?
SCORM is the older, widely supported standard. It tracks what happens inside a course launched from an LMS — completion, score, time spent — and virtually every LMS accepts it. xAPI (sometimes called Tin Can) tracks learning experiences beyond the course window, including simulations, on-the-job activity, and mobile learning, and stores them in a Learning Record Store. If your LMS supports both, the practical question is whether you need evidence of learning that happens outside the course itself.
How do you measure whether a course actually worked?
Completion rate tells you people finished, not that anything changed. During discovery we agree the performance goal each module is meant to move, then design assessments and analytics against that goal. You get learner analytics and assessment data mapped back to the business outcome that justified the project.
Do you provide instructional design, or only development?
Both, and we'd argue the first is what makes the second worth paying for. Storyboarding and instructional design come before any build — learning objectives are mapped to real business outcomes, and the structure is agreed with you before a single slide is produced. If you already have a storyboard, we're happy to build from it.
Which e-learning authoring tools do you use?
Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, and Adobe Captivate, chosen per project rather than by default. Storyline suits branching, simulation-heavy work; Rise 360 is faster for structured, responsive content. We'll recommend the tool that fits the course you need and the way your team expects to maintain it afterwards.
